인종차별에 대한 강연 영상을 시청했다. 미국에서 변호사를 하고있는 사람이 와서 강연을 했는데 미국뿐만아니라 인종차별은 심하고 미국의 감옥은 더 심하다 라는걸 말했다. 또한 거의 모든 나라가 투표권을 얻긴 했지만 안보이는 곳곳에 투표권 박탈이 된 나라도 아직 있다. 그리고 흑인차별이 미국에 심한데 그것으로는 백인일 경우와 흑인이 사형 선고가 내려지면 차이는 11배 차이가 난다고 했다. 인종차별이 심한 이유는 진실, 화해 하는것을 꺼려해서 인종차별을 해결 못한다는것을 알았다. 또 다른 영상을 봤는데 그 영상은 마틴루터킹에 대한 이야기다. 그 영상은 옛날에 흑인들이 인종차별을 당한것과 마틴루터킹이 연설을 해서 흑인들이 연설을 듣고 감동을 받아 무폭력 시위를 해 흑인차별이 그나마 없어졌다는 이야기를 담은것이다. 이 2개의 영상을 시청하고 느낀점은 흑인들은 투표권을 얻기위해 사람다운 인권을 받기 위해서 눈에 안보이는 노력을 했지만 사람들의 인식에 의해 그것 조차 무력해지고 통하지 않았다는걸 알았다. 그래서 인종차별을 당한 사람들이 아무리 다른 사람에게 말을 해도 듣지않고 더 심한 차별을 받는다는걸 깨닳고 말하기를 꺼려한다는것을 알았다. 내 입장에는 인종차별을 당한 사람들이 이야기 하는게 아니라 인종차별은 당연한거야 우리와 피부색이 달라서 그런거야 흑인은 사람도 아니야 라고 주장하고 생각하는 사람들의 고정관념을 먼저 바꿔야 한다고 느꼈다. 아무리 인종차별을 당한사람들이 말을 해도 인종차별을 주장하는 사람들 아무리 들어도 바뀌지 않기 때문이다. 따라서 고정관념을 바꾸도록 노력하고 인종차별을 당한 사람들이 조금만 용기를 내서 이야기를 해주면 해결이 될것같다. I watched a video of a lecture on racism. A lawyer in the U.S. came to give a lecture and said that not only the U.S. but also racism and prison in the U.S. are worse. Also, while almost all countries have won the right to vote, there are still countries that have been stripped of their voting rights in places that are invisible. And black discrimination is so severe in the United States that if white people are sentenced to death, the difference between white people and black people are sentenced to death. The reason why racism is so severe is that I find that I cannot solve it because I am reluctant to reconcile with the truth. I saw another video about Martin Luther King. The video tells the story of black people being racist in the old days and Martin Luther King, Jr. speaking and black people were moved by the speech and violent protests, eliminating even the slightest bit of black discrimination. Watching these two videos and feeling it, black people made an invisible effort to get human rights to vote, but even that didn't work and became powerless by people's perceptions. So I found out that people who were racist were reluctant to talk to others even though they were not listening to them and were more severely discriminated against. In my view, I felt that we should change the stereotypes of people who claim that racism is not what people say, but because we have a different color than we do, and that black people are not human. No matter how racist people speak, no matter how many people claim to be racist, it doesn't change. So if you try to change the stereotype and the racist talk a little bit more courageously, it will work out. |
