미국에서 가장 정직하고 윤리적인 직업인으로 '간호사'가 선정됐다. 미국 갤럽은 여론조사를 실시한 결과 간호사가 가장 정직하고 윤리적인 직업인 1위로 선정됐다고 지난 12월17일 발표했다. 미국 성인 1028명을 대상으로 2016년 12월 7~11일 전화설문을 실시한 결과다. 신뢰도는 95, 표본오차는 4%p이다.

간호사는 9.11테러가 있었던 2001년 한 차례 소방관에게 자리를 내어준 것을 제외하고, 여론조사가 처음 실시된 1999년부터 매년 가장 정직하고 윤리적인 직업인 1위를 지켜왔다.

15년 연속 1위로 선정된 것이며, 총 18번의 여론조사 중 한 번을 빼고 모두 1위를 차지했다.

Nursing was nominated as the most honest and ethical profession in the United States.
Gallup Inc., an American company, said that nurses ranked #1 in poll for honesty and ethics on Dec. 27.
Results are based on telephone interview conducted Dec. 7-11, 2016, with a sample of 1,028 national adult.
The margin of sampling error is ±4 percentage points at the 95% confidence level.
The poll was first conducted in1999, and nurses has topped the honesty and ethics list since then in all but one year, 2001, when firefighters ranked first after the 9/11 terrorist attack .
Nurses have ranked 1 for 15 consecutive years and every year except for one in the 18 years.
