Usually, some people view a sociology department as an activist. Since it is a department closely related to politics, it can be a lot in terms of proportion. However, sociology is never a study that only looks at social problems. It is a study that considers the entire society as the subject of study or studies the methodology of social science. There are always figures who appear when you study in the Department of Sociology. They are Karl Marx, Max Weber, and Emile Durkheim. They are important in all social sciences, but more than 50% of what they learn in sociology is their theory or refutation. 보통 사회학과 나왔다고 하면 운동권으로 보는 사람도 있다. 정치와 밀접한 과이다 보니 비율로 보면 많을 수는 있다. 하지만 사회학은 절대 사회의 문제만을 바라보는 학문이 아니다. 사회 전체를 학문의 대상으로 하거나, 사회과학의 방법론을 연구하는 학문이다.사회학과에서 학문하다보면 항상 나오는 인물들이 있다. 카를 마르크스, 막스 베버, 에밀 뒤르켐이다. 이들은 모든 사회과학에서 중요하게 다루지만 사회학과 학문에서 배우는 내용의 50% 이상이 이들의 이론이거나 이들에 대한 반박이다. 대학에 진학하면 사회학과에서 4년 동안 배우는 각종 사회학 분과들은 가족사회학, 정치사회학, 문화사회학, 경제사회학, 법사회학, 정보사회학, 교육사회학 등이 있다 사회학의 탐구 활동의 폭은 넓습니다. 방법을 모색하여 이론을 구축하고, 집단을 해부하여 구조로 나아가고, 인간 활동의 사회적 심층과 토대를 조명합니다. 그런가 하면 서로 다른 문화들과 그 상호작용의 과정을 추적해 보면서, 연이어 밀려오는 거시적 변동의 특성과 그 영향을 고찰하여, 목전의 사회적 현안들을 위한 정책적 대안을 탐색하는 것입니다.
