Kijun Times 는 교내 영어잡지,신문 동아리로 다양한 주제에 관한 이슈로 원고를 작성하며 영어 잡지를 만드는 동아리입니다.

매년 잡지 출판뿐만 아니라 자신의 진로와 관련된 개인기사, 모둠기사를 작성함으로써 영어 실력향상은 물론 주제에 제한이 없기 때문에 다양한 진로에 접목 가능합니다.

Desert Places - Robert Frost Snow falling and night falling fast, oh, fast In a field I looked into going past, And the ground almost covered smooth in snow, But a few weeds and stubble showing last. (stubble: 그루터기) The woods around it have it―it is theirs. All animals are smothered in their lairs. (smothered: 억누르다, 숨을 죽이다 / lair: 집) I am too absent spirited to count; The loneliness includes me unawares. And lonely as it is, that loneliness Will be more lonely ere it will be less― (ere=before) A blanker whiteness of benighted snow (blanker : 빛나는) With no expression, nothing to express. They cannot scare me with their empty spaces Between stars―on stars where no human race is. I have it in me so much nearer home To scare myself with my own desert places. 내가 지나가며 들여다본 들판에, 눈이 내린다, 밤이 내린다, 오, 빠르게, 지면(地面)이 거의 평평하게 눈에 덮이니, 보이는 건 잡초와 그루터기 몇 개뿐이다. 그것은 주변 숲이 소유한다―그것은 숲의 것이다. 모든 동물이 각자의 굴에서 숨을 죽인다. 나 역시 헤아리기에는 너무 얼이 빠졌다. 고독이 부지불식간에 나를 삼킨다. 들판은 고독하지만, 그 고독은 더욱 고독해지다가 줄어들 것이다― 어둠이 깃든 하얀 눈의 공허(空虛)는 표정도 없고, 표현할 것도 없다. 사람이 없는 별과 별 사이―별 표면의 빈 공간에 내가 놀란 것이 아니다. 나는 집과 훨씬 가까운 나 자신의 적막강산에 겁내고 있는 것이다. This poem shows the speaker's loneliness. There is gradation that the desolation of around view to my and space's desolation to the desolation of my inside. I could recognize that clear spaces of field, space, and my inside were equal.
