I'm working as an chest surgeon. There are many kinds of medical fields but among them,
thoracic surgery has been shunned by medical school students. Most of them applies for department
which is relatively easygoing, profitable but low-risk such as dermatology, orthopedic surgery etc.
In actually, There are many articles that the number of specialists working in essential departments such as
pediatrics, internal, external medicine, thoracic, maternity unit are giving up substantially increasing.
According to a recent survey of 859 medical students conducted by the medical student group "TOB Doctor",
medical students considering "vital" majors such as internal medicine, surgery, obstetrics and gynecology, pediatrics,
thoracic surgery, emergency medicine, neurology, and neurosurgery plunged from 83.9% to 19.4% after the announcement of the policy to expand the medical school quota. I'm sure that among the students who are reading my article also want to be a doctors saving precious lives,

의대생 단체 '투비닥터'가 최근 의대생 859명을 대상으로 실시한 조사결과에 따르면, 내과·외과·산부인과·소아청소년과·흉부외과·응급의학과·신경과·신경외과 등 '바이탈과' 전공을 고려 중인 의대생은 83.9%에서 의대정원 확대 정책 발표이후로 19.4%로 급락했다고 합니다.
