A Trip to JBNU Globe

On August, 2nd, Hanul Times members went on a trip to JBNU Globe. JBNU Globe, a news media circle at JBNU, is located on the second floor of JBNU student union building. The first place of visit was the audiovisual room where JBNU Globe members presented to us how news articles are written and published. Unlike Hanul Times which is published in newspaper format, JBNU Globe was published in magazine format. After having a discussion with Hanul Times members, we made a decision to publish Hanul Times in a magazine format like JBNU Globe. After hearing the presentation from the JBNU Globe member, we had a Q&A session about campus life and major studies at JBNU.

The second place of visit was JBNU Globe studio. Many volumes of JBNU Globe were displayed in the room. Also, we found the explanatory statement on the opposite side of the room. JBNU Globe members are required to write an explanatory statement when they are late for the meeting. When a member writes it 10 times, he or she is immediately kicked out from the circle. What is more, an explanatory statement has to be over 20 lines long. On the wall, a big calendar was hung, which marked important dates for JBNU Globe publication. On the right, there was a meeting room. Although the room size was small, it had all the necessary equipments such as a beam projector and a black board. Desks were located in the center; Some were with a computer and some without. Freshmen carry their own laptops and work at the desk without computer while seniors can work comfortably at the desks with a computer. A lounge was located at the inner part, where members can enjoy various snacks and also boil ramen.

The third place of visit was the broadcasting room. We could see many cables and cameras there. Those equipments were used for various school events. the broadcasting room was so quiet that we could hear a pin drop in the room, As we stepped into the room, we felt as if we were radio broadcasters already.

After we went to JBNU Globe, we were able to discuss how to publish 2020 Hanul Times. Above all, it was worthwhile to experience things that are not easily do elsewhere. Lastly, I'd like to thank Sunny and JBNU Globe, and also thank Ms. Genz for her participation.
