On September 20, we conducted the second demand survey for next year’s curriculum. We had to take the subject our school gave us until the first grade, but as a sophomore, we have to choose our own curriculum for the university we want or our own career.

These days, when I ask the students if they have their career they want, most of them say, “It’s not certain.” or “I want to do this now, but it might be changed someday. There is not much time left to choose a subject. But if you choose a subject that doesn’t fit your career, it may be painful for an year or two.

However, it is not easy for us to find our career that fits on us in a short time. How do we find our way as fast as we can? What do you consider first when choosing your career? I think we should consider interest and fun the most. Because if we do something we are interested in, we’re bound to be more willing, and going to naturally be more efficient.

So I think it is necessary for us to find what was the most interesting and funny when we do something. If you choose a subject based on this, you’ll be able to reach your own career.

(해석본) 지난 9월20일 내년을 위한 교과선택 2차 수요조사를 실시했습니다. 1학년까지는 학교에서 지정해주는 교과목을 그대로 들어야 했지만 2학년부터는 원하는 대학을 가기 위해 또는 자신의 진로를 위해 자신이 직접 교과를 선택해야 합니다.

요즘 학생들에게 원하는 진로가 있냐고 물어보면 대부분이 “아직은 확실히 모르겠어” 라던가 “지금은 이걸 하고 싶은데 언젠가 바뀔지도 몰라” 라고 대답을 합니다. 교과를 선택해야 하는 마감시간은 얼마 남지 않았는데 자신의 진로와 맞지 않는 교과를 선택한다면 1년 또는 2년이 고통스러워 질지도 모릅니다.

그렇지만 우리들은 짧은 시간안에 자신에게 맞는 진로를 찾기 쉽지 않습니다. 최대한 빠르게 진로를 찾으려면 어떻게 해야할까요? 여러분들은 진로를 고를때 무엇을 가장 먼저 고려하십니까? 저는 흥미와 재미를 가장 먼저 고려해야 한다고 생각합니다.. 자신이 재미있어하는 일을 한다면 더욱 의지가 생기기 마련이고 자연스럽게 일의 효율이 높아질 것이기 때문입니다.

그래서 저는 우리가 무엇을 할 때 가장 흥미로웠고 재미있었는지를 찾는 것이 필수적이라고 생각합니다. 이를 기반으로 교과를 선택한다면 분명 자신의 진로에 다가갈 수 있을 것입니다.
