Kim Seo-yeon and Kim Ga-young were awkward when they first met the host family, but they were reportedly invited directly by the Japanese host family to tour downtown Ottaru for five nights and six days. In addition to sightseeing in the city, I practiced using Japanese and Chinese characters at the Seishugo Seodo Club, and had a meaningful experience to find out the difference between Korean and Japanese writing. Geunyoung Girls' High School and Seishugo did not communicate well due to their different languages, but some Japanese friends introduced Japanese tourist spots, tourist spots and food in English, helping them find Japan easily. In addition to experiencing various cultures in Japan, he participated in the Sapporo Snow Festival, one of the world's three major festivals, from Feb. 4 to Feb. 11, to watch various sculptures decorated with LEDs, such statues and palaces made of snow, and to watch various music performances held at the festival. Student Lee Ah-ram said, "As the head of Geunyoung Girls' High School's exchange team, I felt that I had to play various roles such as declaration ceremony and communication in Japanese in Seishugo, but I felt proud and fulfilled. Kim Ga-young said she had prejudiced against Japan, but after the sister exchange, she said she wanted to know more about Japan because she was not biased. Not only has prejudice against Japan been reduced, but it is also actively contacting Japanese friends after international exchanges. Student Yujin said, "I had a great experience that I couldn't do in Korea while interacting with Japanese friends and experiencing the Japan Snow Festival, which is considered one of the world's top three festivals, and I was very sad when I broke up with the host family." Even though we broke up, Seishu High School friends visited Korea often and have met many times since that. Both Japanese friends of the host's family and friends of Geunyoung Girls' High School said they hoped the meaningful meeting between they would help the two countries' friendship amid deepening conflicts between Seoul and Japan.
