Rapper Jeon Ji-yoon said in an interview with International Bnt that she started rapping so she could be featured in season 2 of the show “Unpretty Rapstar,” through which she later rose to fame.
“I was a vocalist until I was confirmed to feature in ‘Unpretty Rapstar 2,’” she said.

“At first, I lost face many times because of my rapping capability. I had little time to practice, as I had to focus on the projects in the show.”
She added her appearance in “Unpretty Rapstar” helped her learn to control her emotions.
“There was a time when I could not control myself when I read online comments,” Jeon said. “I was so vulnerable in terms of my mindset, but it grew to be as firm as soil.”

Along with the interview, there was a photo spread featuring Jeon in feminine fashion styles, in contrast to what she was like as a 4Minute member.
She will release a solo album in October. All of its tracks were written by her.
